Integrated With Oracle: e-Business Suite

Release Information

What's New in Stat 5.5

The latest release of Stat includes some important new capabilities designed to enhance overall usability and security.

New Capabilities

Description

Web Services Support

Stat provides a Web Service inteface that enables external applications to create new and update existing Stat CSRs.

  • Stat can create CSRs via inbound emails today, but this new enhancement provides users with tighter integration with other ticketing or change request systems
  • Stat also provides bi-directional integration so that status changes in Stat can update an external ticketing system

Point-to-Point Migrations

Stat provides users with the ability to move objects from one environment to another without incurring the overhead of versioning the objects within Stat. Using this capability allows users to use Stat as the coordination and control point for more types of migrations, while still capturing the activity for audit reports.

Pre-Migration Steps

Stat provides pre-migration steps enabling prescribed activities to be performed prior to a migration of objects. This is similar to Stat's ability to perform post migration steps, except that it is just done upfront in the migration process rather than after the fact. This capability is most useful for actions that involve preparing files, running scripts or updating a server prior to moving the objects.

Users can even organize the different steps by object type or environment or other relevant criteria.

Note: SSH would need to be supported just like it is for post-migration steps.

Database Schema Object Archive and Migration
Previous releases of Stat supported a “logical” locking of database schema objects. This new enhancement provides support for the archiving and migration of the following objects: Function, Index, Package Spec, Package Body, Procedure, Sequence, Synonym, Table, Trigger, View.

Note: This capability is currently supported on an Oracle database only. SQL Server & DB2 will follow in a later release.
Security Enhancements

Security concerns are ever-present and while Stat provides some password structure enforcement today, it could be better. This enhancements provides administrators with the ability to:

  • Specify the length of password their users must enter for use of Stat
  • Change the number of failed logins that occur before an intruder alert is triggered
  • Define the minimum number of characters allowed for a userid
Utility for Oracle E-Business Suite Resource Kit ModificationsStat provides a Resource Kit that is modifiable so that other standard Oracle objects (with LCT files) can be added, however only development has been able to make these modifications.

In the next release, Stat will provide administrators with a utility that allows the Resource Kit to be modified in a controlled manner, enabling customers to extend Stat’s native Oracle E-Business Suite object support.

Other Oracle E-Business Suite Enhancements

  • Automation of additional ADAdmin activities
  • Selection of multiple patches in a single step
  • Patches can now be downloaded from within Stat
  • Modified migration history and distributed migration reports
